Welcome to the 2023 Norway-UK Seafood Summit
The Norway–UK Seafood Summit is an annual conference organised by the Norwegian Seafood Council for the Norwegian and UK seafood industry. The summit has fast become one of the most important seafood business arenas to bring together key stakeholders and media for market updates, industry sharing and networking.
The 2023 edition of the summit, held at Fishmongers’ Hall, will open its doors on 27th February to over 200 stakeholders from the seafood sector and related industries, from fishing fleet, seafood producers and exporters, to importers, suppliers, retail, food service and media.
Amongst a distinguished speaker set, we are delighted to announce the involvement of Bjørnar Selnes Skjæran, Norwegian Minister of Fisheries and Ocean Policy and the Rt Hon Mark Spencer, UK Minister of Food, Farming and Fisheries in session one, taking place from 12:00. Session 1 – Norway - UK seafood partnership
Norway and the UK are close seafood partners. The 2023 edition of Norway-UK Seafood Summit begins with an update on how the two countries are working together and joint efforts to further strengthen and develop seafood trade and relations.

Taking a deep dive into the UK economy, the session, headlined by The Economist, will outline the country’s economic outlook, and explore implications for the seafood industry in 2023 and beyond. Market insight from the Norwegian Seafood Council will map out Norwegian seafood trade flow to the UK before intelligence from Seafish provides a long-term view and considerations for the future of seafood.

Ensuring seafood remains an intrinsic part of the future food debate, this session addresses UK consumer trends and behaviors as their spending power is squeezed, giving insight and considerations for the seafood industry to grow the category even within economic downturn. Building a case for seafood, the session will go on to discuss why blue is the new green and how seafood should be seen and communicated as a sustainable, wholesome protein choice within planetary healthy diets.

- The Summit will take place at Fishmongers’ Hall, London Bridge, on Monday 27th February
- Venue direction to Fishmongers’ Hall.
- Delegates are advised to input 'Fishmongers' Company' in Google Maps to reach the summit entrance via London Bridge, as inputting 'Fishmongers' Hall' can often direct to Upper Thames St
